  18.      I have Icon running very well on some VAX/VMS systems.
  19.      Now there is a new architecture called Alpha or AXP.
  20.      Compaq/Dec has a tool called VEST which interprets
  21.      the VAX executable. This works for many programs.
  22.      But when I tried it with ICONT.EXE or ICONX.EXE there
  23.      were errors and version mismatches with libraries.

  25.      Next I just tried to rebuild it since we have a
  26.      development system. But on Alpha the compiler is
  27.      DEC-C instead of VAX-c and there differences.
  28.      Such as DEC-c does not initialze variables automatically
  29.      as VAX-c did. There were very many compile errors.
  30.      My knowledge of C falls way short of debugging it.

  32.      Is anyone else looking at migrating to the Alpha/VMS
  33.      environment? Or many used a different set of flags
  34.      for the VEST translation that worked?
